Subscribe for 6 months and pay $9.99 per month However, ExpressVPN is the fastest VPN I’ve tested.ĮxpressVPN offer 3 different payment packages - you can choose to: If your VPN is going to always ‘be on’ speed is key, but if you use it sporadically - for public hot spots, torrents, avoiding your browser getting tracked et cetera et cetera - speed isn’t necessarily super key. However, speed isn’t always the be all and end all for VPNs and it really depends what you’ll be using yours for. That said, I will update this after a few more days of usage as I have personally gotten faster speeds from ExpressVPN in the past. I ran a test recently and could saturate 120mbps on average. I’ve also read a few ExpressVPN reviews right here on Reddit that give wildly different numbers. Speed is a tricky one because it varies from location to location. This is strictly not an affiliate review and is my own personal opinion. If you’re genuinely interested in using it to torrent etc I’m going to try and answer as many of your questions as possible in this post. So anyway, I decided to put together a lil ExpressVPN review for you to make up your own mind about it. I’ve also seen a lot of negative comments about it, which seems odd to me as I’ve been using it for 3 years without an issue. There seems to be a lot of confusion about this VPN. ![]() I have to disconnect for specific sites too.I’ve been reading a lot of stuff about VPNs on Reddit recently, and especially about ExpressVPN. Not to mention TONS of websites don’t work when I use nordvpn. Like everyday multiple times I disconnect from nordvpn intentionally to connect to stuff. I find myself going off the VPN very often to do stuff. I decided I’ll get a VPN again and had a really good deal (1 year for 36$). I’m just annoyed I can’t get any decent speed on nordvpn.Ī couple of years ago I was doing monthly sub, and speed were excellent. It’s like it’s not a consistent speed, it takes forever to connect but once it does it’s fine. Once in a while it takes forever to load the webpage, and the video just buffers but once it finally starts it’s fast again. Websites take forever to initially load sometimes. I have 60 mbs download, and I never get over 28 using nord. Just FYI, I have to select multiple servers to get any decent speed in NordVPN. I should mention that this router leaks DNS requests, although that may be because of poor setup. ![]() The only reason it's using ExpressVPN is because ExpressVPN has really good router configuration documentation. So I have a small, wired-only router running L2TP to bypass that issue. The only thing I'm using ExpressVPN for right now is for my little VPN router - I live in student dorms and the Internet security here is so tight that I can't play online on my Nintendo Switch. Works great for me - although your experience may vary. AFAIK torrenting is allowed on all of their servers, although they have dedicated servers for P2P that they would ask you to use. ExpressVPN has a subpar app, with no support for a Kill Switch on Android. ![]() ![]() If you are planning to use the VPN on your computer or a phone, NordVPN has a better app - you can easily toggle on a Kill Switch and select your server. I currently have a subscription for both. ![]()
